The Blank Page Banner

I considered delaying today’s comic. The script never quite reached a state with which I was fully satisfied… but sometimes, you just have to let go.

It figures that I run into a writing issue on the comic about writing issues. That being said, the blank page truly is one of the most frightening things for any writer. Or artist for that matter. With most of my work, the hardest part is getting the first words or first lines onto the paper. The dread of how much is to come… the fear of trying to reach the potential that I see for the story or art, and the chance that it won’t ever equal the image in my head.

And like many artists, I always doubt the final product, even when I’m truly happy with the work.

There could be a whole blog on this subject, but I can’t quite get it started. Maybe later.

In the meantime, if you need another show to add to your list, the BBC’s LUTHER is worth checking out – a police drama with some dark edge and mixture of serialized plots arcing over episodic story lines. At only six episodes in its first season, it should be an easy show to catch up on, and is conveniently available on Netflix Streaming.

Anyway, that’s it for now. Thanks for reading!
